There’s a reason
for all the sky.
I grew up watching it change from a rooftop. The sky on this website comes from that part of my life.
I’m Anudeep, a product guy in Austin. Most of my work has been technical: turning an idea into something I can build, try, and improve. A camera, a telescope, and a cup of coffee are all good reasons for me to step away from the keyboard.
I’m interested in how things work. Sometimes that means building an LSTM in C++ because using one through a library didn’t quite answer the question. Sometimes it means making an explorer for ancient Sanskrit texts.
At UTSA, I worked on research software and helped students through a software engineering lab. These days I’m working on AI applications at Gimmie. You can find that side of things in my work.
What has my attention lately.
Reinforcement learning and post-training: how a model learns to make better decisions, and how we tell whether it actually did. This is an interest I’m exploring, rather than a finished claim of expertise.
Formula 1, after the lights go out
I’m interested in the car as much as the race. The shape, the compromises, and all those parts working together. That interest became a small interactive car study on this site.
Ancient texts, new tools
Rig Veda Explorer started with an interest in ancient wisdom and a question about access. How could Sanskrit, transliteration, and translation sit together in a tool someone could actually explore? I wrote about the build.
Taking the long way through a problem
I built an LSTM from scratch to understand what the libraries were doing for me. Working through the gates and memory management was the point. Here’s that experiment.
Looking up, looking around
Photography and astronomy have a place here too. Outside is a collection of my photographs, including the rooftops and light on the water.
